ACROSS THE EMPIRE
|
SpaceX’s first public earnings day
SpaceX posts its second-quarter 2026 financial and operational results after market close today and hosts a live audio webcast at 3:30 p.m. CT. This is the company’s first earnings report as a public company.
Analysts are focused on Starlink subscriber and revenue growth, Connectivity margins, AI-related spending, and any Starship roadmap commentary. Consensus revenue estimates for the quarter sat near $6.9 billion in previews, driven largely by the Connectivity segment.
Why this matters: Public markets demand a different cadence of disclosure. The first print sets the baseline for how investors will measure Starlink scaling, launch cadence, and the AI compute push that now sits inside the same company.

FSD Supervised sees what humans miss
Tesla posted a simple line: “Humans can’t look everywhere at once, but FSD Supervised can.”
The message continues the recent safety and capability framing. The system monitors more of the scene continuously than a human driver can.
Why this matters: The practical argument for supervised autonomy is not that the car is perfect. It is that the car never looks away. That difference shows up in the collision data Tesla has been publishing.

|
Vegas Loop station at SAHARA is open
The Boring Company confirmed the Vegas Loop station at SAHARA Las Vegas is open. The post included video of the new stop in service.
The network continues to add stations beyond the original convention-center tunnels.
Why this matters: Each new station makes the Loop more useful to actual visitors and residents. Expansion is the only way the system moves from a convention-campus shuttle to city infrastructure.

Grok Build v0.2.120
Elon amplified another Grok Build update. The release includes fixes for the model picker status, the changes panel after commits, background-task log reporting, and clearer messaging on older hibernated sessions.
The cadence remains high. Small reliability improvements keep landing.
Why this matters: Agents become useful when they stop surprising the user with stale state or unclear errors. These are the fixes that let people leave the tool running.

Starlink still works where other networks do not
Starlink highlighted a real-world case of company payroll being run from the back of a Tesla while traveling through rural Arizona and New Mexico. Elon replied simply: “Starlink anywhere.”
The product story remains the same: reliable connectivity when terrestrial infrastructure is thin or absent.
Why this matters: The most persuasive evidence for the network is still people doing ordinary work in places that used to be offline. That proof compounds with every new satellite and every new terminal.

THE MAIN EVENT
|
THE FIRST PUBLIC PRINT
Earnings, vision, and another station in the ground.
SpaceX becomes a public company in the full sense of the word today. The first quarterly results and the first earnings webcast set the numbers against which the next several years of Starlink growth, launch cadence, and AI investment will be judged.
At the same time the rest of the empire keeps shipping smaller, concrete pieces. Tesla reminds drivers that the supervised system never stops scanning the scene. The Boring Company opens another Vegas Loop station. Starlink keeps proving it works in places where other networks fail. Grok Build receives another round of reliability fixes.
The pattern is familiar. The large public milestone and the daily operational progress happen on the same calendar. One sets the scoreboard. The others keep moving the underlying capability forward.
Investors will parse the Connectivity margin, the AI spend, and any guidance on Starship. The rest of the system continues regardless of the print.
My take: The first public earnings day is a threshold. The more interesting story is that the same company is still launching satellites, opening stations, and improving the agents that run on the data the network carries. The scoreboard and the work both matter.

THE TROLL REPORT
|
🧌 “Just another earnings day.”
It is the first one. The baseline numbers for Starlink, launch, and AI spend will be public for the first time. That changes how the story is measured from here.
|
|
🧌 “One more Vegas station. So what?”
Stations are how the Loop becomes useful. Each one that opens turns the map from a drawing into a place people can actually go.
